Ken Grippi Hosts Association of Wedding Gown Specialists Technical Training as Dorchester Facility

Quincy, MA (November 7, 2006) – The Association of Wedding Gown Specialists (AWGS) personally invited Ken Grippi (left), Dependable Cleaners' Senior Technical Training Specialist, who is also a well-known expert in preservation and restoration of antique fabrics, to conduct a training session for its members. The training session on restoration and preservation of wedding gowns and vintage garments was held at the company's Dorchester facility on October 28th and 29th. The two-day training session was conducted for new AWGS members, as well as new employees from existing member facilities. More than a dozen wedding gown specialists from across the nation attended the event.

Grippi, who is shown here conducing on the job training with attendees, is trained and certified in the restoration and preservation of wedding gowns and vintage garments by the AWGS. He is also one of only a few industry professionals to receive the Certified Garment Care Professional designation by the International Fabricare Institute. An industry veteran with 40 years of experience in the dry cleaning industry, Grippi is a Certified Professional Drycleaner, a Certified Professional Wetcleaner and Certified Environmental Drycleaner for more than 35 years, serving as a Manager and District Manager for the company. Grippi has trained employees in all areas of operation, including: tailoring, laundry, pressing, dry cleaning and repairs.
