Kevin Youkilis, along with Shawn Thornton, will be launching a book collection drive for military families at today's game. Youk’s Kids has teamed up with Reach Out and Read, a nationwide school readiness program, to collect 1,800 books for military families at Hanscom AFB and the Naval Station in Newport.

Fans are being asked to donate new, age-appropriate books for children through the age of 5. A list of appropriate books has been compiled by Reach Out and Read and is available online at reachoutandread.org/youkskids. Books will be collected at Gates A and C throughout the game.

Following the kick-off at Fenway Park, books will also be collected at various locations through September 30. Collection boxes will be located at Brookline Children’s Book Shop in Brookline, Wellesley Books, Porter Square Books, Rodney’s Book Store, Barefoot Books, Davio’s Restaurant Boston, Dependable Cleaners, Hotel Commonwealth, Royal Sonesta Cambridge, Scoozi, Kings Bowling, New England Mobile Book Fair, Liberty Bay Credit Union, and select Qdoba locations.
